RVL-DD is the top-of-the-line solution for high quality video in a Wii portable. This LCD drive board replacement is designed to accept raw, unprocessed digital video straight from the Wii’s GPU. This enables it to bypass both the Wii’s onboard video encoder, and the processing of display’s usual board, and the quality loss that comes with each of those steps. The combination of a lossless video chain and unparalleled control a custom FPGA drive board result in some of the sharpest video ever seen in a Wii portable. It also draws less power than most original LCD drive boards, resulting in a small increase in battery life.

The 3.5” version is designed to be paired with the 3.5” 640*480 IPS display. This 4:3 screen has become the go-to display for compact builds, and is possibly the sharpest looking display for Wii portables currently available.
The 5” version is designed to be paired with the 5” 800x480 IPS display, but also works with the 4.3” IPS displays of the same resolution and timings. This 5” widescreen panel has become the most popular display for portables, including the Ashida.

Flexible Installation
RVL-DD can be hand-wired to the vias of a Wii, allowing custom wire paths for custom portables. However, for common builds like the Gboy and Ashida, we offer flex cables and 3d printed mounts, and 3d printed alignment jigs for an easier and cleaner installation. These flex cable kits are highly recommended for compatible builds.

Note:
Use the continuity mode on your multimeter to check for shorts between adjacent pins on the RVLDD before powering it on to verify that solder has not bridged underneath the PCB.
